Buyout for Marbury on the horizon?
Although Stephon Marbury is healthy, he continues to get paid not to play even as other Knicks struggle to stay healthy.
Danilo Gallinari, the Knicks first draft pick in the Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni era, has only played 11 minutes this season. And it doesn't look like Gallinari will see action any time soon.
If you prefer to pay him more than $20 million to remain inactive while you activate Jerome James, even though he's not currently with the team as he works through a "personal matter," then just cut him. Otherwise, activate him.

"We hope sooner than later he will be back," D'Antoni said. "We had this discussion two months ago, so obviously I'm not an expert on it.Marbury and Players' Association attorneys met with Walsh and the Knicks organization to talk about a possible buyout. The Knicks need to do something. Marbury has his issues, but he is healthy and talented (especially compared to the rest of the healthy Knicks players).
"I don't know if he will be great in January or not playing at all."
