Mavs want Kidd to return

Per the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Terry, who won the NBA's Sixth-Man of the Year award, caused a stir Tuesday night when he said that Mavs PG Jason Kidd "is probably not going to be with us next year."

Via e-mail to the Dallas Morning News, Terry clarified his statement by saying that since Kidd becomes a free agent after the season ends, "the time is now to win."

The Mavericks would like to bring Kidd back next year, but Kidd expects to explore all of his options.
Said [president of basketball operations Donnie] Nelson: "We have every intention of having him back with the Mavericks."

"In this business you never know," [Kidd] said. "We just have to play it out. I would love to come back. We will see."
Kidd averaged 9.0 points, 8.7 assists and 6.2 rebounds this season.
