Chuck Daly has passed away
After battling pancreatic cancer since March, Chuck Daly passed away at 78 years old.
Daly achieved great things as a coach. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, he won two NBA titles (1989 and 1990) and he led the original Dream Team to Olympic gold in 1992.
Perhaps even greater than his ability to coach basketball was his ability to understand people and help players as different as Dennis Rodman and Joe Dumars work well together.

Dumars called Daly "a special coach, but more importantly he was a special human being."Rest in peace, Chuck.
"Chuck did much more than coach basketball games," [NBA Commissioner David Stern] said in a statement. "He positively impacted everyone he met, both personally and professionally, and his love of people and the game of basketball helped develop the next generation of coaches."
"He was a man of incredible class and dignity. He was a mentor and a friend," [Doug] Collins said. "He taught me so much and was always so supportive of me and my family. I loved him and will miss him."
