Hairline fracture for Yao, out for rest of playoffs
It's déjà vu for Yao Ming all over again.
According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Rockets will be without their 7-foot-5 center Yao Ming for the remainder of the season, which will likely end with their series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers currently lead the series 2-1.

“Yao Ming had an initial test taken in the early morning hours on Saturday following the game,” said Rockets team physician Tom Clanton in a press release. “The original diagnosis of the left ankle sprain was based on the results of that test. Further diagnostic procedures performed later in the day revealed a hairline fracture on the top of his left foot. In order for the bone to heal properly, Yao will need to immobilize the foot by wearing a walking boot. No surgery is required and he should be able to resume his regular workout routine sometime between the next eight to 12 weeks.”Yao has had his season ended prematurely in each of the past three seasons. He won't need surgery, but his latest injury will sideline him for eight to twelve weeks.
